1099 reporting thresholds are rising in 2026. Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), the reporting threshold for Forms 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC increases from $600 to $2,000 starting with 2026 payments, easing the paperwork burden for businesses that pay contractors.

The Form 1099-K threshold has reverted to $20,000 and 200 transactions, rolling back the lower thresholds that had been phasing in — relevant for e-commerce sellers and anyone paid through third-party platforms.

100% bonus depreciation and the Section 199A (QBI) deduction are now permanent under the OBBBA, giving business owners more long-term certainty for equipment purchases and pass-through tax planning.

This section needs an owner to review and update at least annually.
